Course overview
If money stress has been sitting in the back of your mind — during class, at night, when a bill notification pops up — this course is for you. Most college students carry some version of this stress. Very few talk about it, which makes it feel like a personal failure instead of what it actually is: one of the most common experiences on campus. Money Mindset & Financial Wellness won't make you rich, and it won't pretend a budget spreadsheet fixes anxiety. It does something more useful: it helps you name what's happening, see where it's showing up in your life, and build a simple system that makes money feel manageable instead of scary. In about 80 minutes across five short modules, you'll learn to recognize money stress without treating it as a character flaw, understand why avoidance happens and take one small step out of it, and build a real money system — autopay, a checking-account buffer, and a short weekly check-in — designed around your actual numbers. You'll also know exactly where to go on and around campus for financial aid, counseling, and peer support. What's covered: 1.Naming the Stress — Why money anxiety is so common in college, and how to tell everyday stress from the point where you should seek support 2.How Financial Stress Shows Up Everywhere — How money stress disguises itself in your grades, sleep, relationships, and decisions 3. The Avoidance Trap — Why you stop looking at your accounts, how shame keeps the cycle going, and the small step that breaks it 4. Building a Stress-Resilient Money System — Autopay, buffers, and a weekly check-in ritual that replaces willpower with a system 5. When and How to Ask for Help — The real financial aid, counseling, and peer support that exists on campus, and how to reach it No financial background required. Just about 80 minutes, a checking account, and honesty about where you're starting. *This is educational wellness content, not medical, mental-health, or financial advice.
